ADC | BORN WITHOUT A FACE
ADC
ADC was a pioneer Michigan noise band from 1982-87'. Unique to the hardcore punk scene they originally found themselves connected with (mostly as fellow outsiders), there wasn't many, if any, local bands that sounded remotely similar. As more like-minded bands began appearing, still none had the mix of raw abrasion and Dada Art concept that defined ADC. Beginning as a 3-piece, with the notorious "Toxic" (the original) Scott Bala as the single instrument in the band on distorted Bass, Melissa Barnes banging on her tribal, cymbal-less drum kit and Charlie Wallace screaming through a guitar amp while generating screeching feed-back that melted minds and dumb-founded non-believers. The band went on in 85' to become a 2-piece, using tape loops and drum machines for the rhythm section before eventually splitting in 1987 after a failed migration to New York split the duo.
